Crystallization behavior of TiO2 thin films
Thin films of titanium dioxide (TiO2) have attracted considerable attention in the past few years, since nanocrystalline TiO2 shows outstanding properties and has widespread application potential. The possible applications range from solar cells and energy conversion systems, gas and UVsensors, battery systems to photocatalysis and self-cleaning surfaces. All these applications rely on the semi...
متن کاملRapid fabrication of highly b-oriented zeolite MFI thin films using ammonium salts as crystallization-mediating agents.
A new route to the synthesis of highly b-oriented zeolite MFI films is demonstrated for the first time using ammonium salts as crystallization-mediating agents in secondary growth. The ammonium salts tailor the crystallization process and silicate-NH4(+) interactions dominate over TPA-NH4(+) interactions so that nucleation was effectively suppressed during secondary growth.
متن کاملSubstrate effect on the melting temperature of thin polyethylene films.
Strong dependence of the crystal orientation, morphology, and melting temperature (Tm) on the substrate is observed in the semicrystalline polyethylene thin films. The Tm decreases with the film thickness decrease when the film is thinner than a certain critical thickness, and the magnitude of the depression increases with increasing surface interaction. We attribute the large Tm depression to ...
متن کاملAluminum-induced Crystallization of Semiconductor Thin Films
Thin film materials of the semiconductors, such as silicon (Si), germanium (Ge) or their alloys, are turning into the most promising functional materials in the energy technology. However, the morphologies of these semiconductor thin films must be varied to be suitable for the different applications, e.g. a large-grained layer as the seed layer of thin film solar cells, a porous structure for a...
متن کاملThermoviscoelastic Models for Polyethylene Thin Films
This paper presents a constitutive thermoviscoelastic model for thin films of linear low-density polyethylene subject to strains up to yielding. The model is based on the free volume theory of nonlinear thermoviscoelasticity, extended to orthotropic membranes. An ingredient of the present approach is that the experimentally inaccessible out-of-plane material properties are determined by fitting...
